Multiversity Comics asked me to contribute to their 31 Days of Hellboy celebration and this is what I came up with.
They’ve had many excellent artists contribute work so far. Check it out:
You might also remember the piece I did for them last year for their 31 Days of Abe Sapien found here:
Pretty happy with both of them!
The piece I did for the Stan Sakai benefit auction is up for bidding:
ABOUT THE AUCTION: This is an auction conceived and organized by CAPS (Comic Art Professional Society) to help aid USAGI YOJIMBO creator Stan Sakai and his wonderful wife Sharon with increasing medical bills due to Sharon’s present debilitating illness.
Also, the character find of 2014: Human Garbage.
Favorite Comic Book Panels: Edison Rex #14
Been wanting to work a chessboxing ref into a comic for a long time.
I decided to remaster some of the art on the first issue of Edison Rex.
Mostly heads and hands in various panels. Getting the characters more on model with the rest of the series plus a new cover featured above.
Normally I don’t believe in going backwards on this kind of stuff but I realized that digital changes things in a pretty significant way. If someone decides they want to check out Edison Rex or any book digitally they’re not likely to pick up the latest issue. They’re going to start with the first one because it never sells out and is always on sale. So if that’s the case the first issue is always the first impression of the book and I figure it needs to look as good as I can make it.
So that’s what I did. It’s better looking and more cohesive with the rest of the series. You can still see the old pages floating around online, on the Pirate Bay, and in the print collection(although I imagine we’ll update it in future printings) if you want to compare.
If you’ve never read the book before then now is the best possible time to check it out:
